   Lower colon. If you are middleaged or over, it could be diverticulosis. That is most common cause of lower left side pain.

   As answered, the colon (bowel) unless the pain is in the back or flank area (lower back side). Yes, the kidney is in that area.

   As mentioned diverticulitis, also adhesions (if previous surgery), also females sometimes may have ovarian pain.
