When a duck is sleeping, why do they stand on one leg and tuck the other one to their body?

I have observed this the other day while at the park, watching about 15 ducks, all in the same position. They were napping! Why on earth do they stand on ONE leg and tuck the other into their bodies while at the same time, tuck their heads into their feathers? They sure do have alot of balance and equalibrium! It amazed me as I sat and studied them, even while children were amuck, and laughing around them, they still sayed in the same position! Could someone please explain this phenomenon?

Pelvic Pain?

I have had endometriosis for close to 2 years, in that time I have had two different sets of surgeries for the pain. June ‘06 Lap,and a D&C. July ‘07 - Lap, and opertive to remove endo. from right and left of uterus, right ovary, and intestine. To follow this I should be healed as I have just had the last surgery almost a month ago.

Heres the deal… along with that I also get frequent UTIs, and excessive abdominal pain. I am worried that I could have something else going on. I have been to a few different doctors who don’t really seem to care. They do as minimal as possible, and that’s about it.

Any answers or info would help.
* Most of the pain is located in the lower abdominal area, and stretches all the way across. Flows into the back as well. Feels like a nasty period, with alot of bloating pressure. Almost right where a pair of jeans would sit.

Also when pain is increased, there is a sharp, shooting pain that elongates on my right side. almost where your appendix lies (I have mine out), to the lowest rib. Feels like a horrible pinching pain.

Pain in my left leg from my **** to my ankles. what is this?

I have a pain on the outer side of my leg from the thigh to my knee to down to my ankle. its like a shooting ish muscular achey pain. And it is constant and it keeps me up at night. it seems to have been some degree of it since i gave birth 2 months ago but recently hurts alot more! what can this be?

How do you know if you have severe gas or something worse?

For the last two weeks on and off I have been throwing up. i went to the doctor Friday and have an appt for a GI today.
He gave me prisolec for the nausea but since then I have had trouble going to the bathroom. iam going but it stills feels like I have to when I am done. Right now I have pain-alot in my stomach. How do I know if it is just gas? No sarcastic answers please.

So confused?

I had my son 4 months ago to a c-section, I had an epidural when I was in labor but then after pushing for two hours they gave me a c-section.. his head became stuck in my birth canal and this lead to me being rushed into the operating room and I then received a spinal black.. I got knocked out as soon as they started cutting me because I could feel it all and I wasn’t numb… I don’t know if any of this is important but I just thought I would include it. So this is my problem:
I have been having intense pains in my feet and the back of my ankles when I walk. It hurts like crazy and I have to limp alot. I’ve also been having these SHARP annoying pains in the lower left side of my stomach, at first I thought I was just getting ready to get my period but it happens every day now and has been for 2 months. And there’s the numbness around my incision that I thought was just normal up until just a month ago it started to spread all the way down to my ****** basically. What’s going on?

What are the first signs of kidney failure? Only serious answers, please?

I have been a diabetic for 40+ years. Type l. Recently, though, I have been swelling alot, and Demedex that is prescribed for fluid is not working like it use to. My Dr. says swelling is normal, as we get older, but sometimes I can hardly get my shoes on or off. What’s up? Does anyone know what to look for in kidney slow down or failure? Have you experienced this?

lower back pain and some nausea during the day?

i have been having alot of lower back pain which does not let me sleep at night i also feel this on my sides to and i have nausea during the week at different times no i know for sure i am not pregant unable to have more kids can this kind of pain be from recent weight gain and does it cause nausea i am 37 please if any body can help thank you for your time

Does a computer left on waste alot of energy?

i sometimes leave my computer on for hours on end, i use it onces in the morning and later in the evening.
if i leave my computer on and solely the computer (monitor, printer, and speakers off) would it waste alot of energy or would it just be smarter to turn everything off.

18 Days left of pregnancy?

I have 18 days left of my pregnancy and recently been feeling quite sick and get alot of pains in my lower back and abdomen. Is this normal for me or should i be worried?

HELP this is urgent! 10 points if good answers please HELP?

MK I have asked for a while but things keep changing. Please give me a straight answer of what you think about the symptoms before you say get a test feel free to E-mail me to.

Symptoms

1.Period was light last time and was a light pink.
2.Lower stomach pains occasioally.
3.Lower back pain in the kidney reagon to lower, stopped after about 4-6 weeks of it.
4.More frequent urination, has been letting up and going back to normal.
5.Headaches occasionaly.
6.Did have ovlation at least I think it was it. It was around the time I believe.

Details

1.The possibilety of time of bein pregnet would be 1-2 moths.
2.Had protected ***. Came on upper body. Chance maybe a lil bit of ***** could’ve touched ***** area.
3.Only the first time I had had *** was when I ovalated that day. None of the others.
4.Been under alot of stress.
5.I think she ovalated this month it was around the time she thinks.
She isn’t cramping it is pain.

And her last period ended the 24th of April it was the same length just about half as light.
