Have solid advice or have you helped a major alcoholic recover?

I speak of my Father.
He is so alcohol dependent, that he tells ridiculous lies.
I have confronted many times and had ZERO success.

He has been caught drinking and driving, kept license with help from lawyer.

He gets angry and puts up a self defense mechanism when cornered.

HE DOES NOT WANT HELP.

I am becoming apathetic.
The police know him.
The ambulance people know him

Yet he still drinks.
He has for decades.

Nothing in this world matters to him more than alcohol.

It runs deper than most can ever imagine. I have never seen anything even similar to him.

Do you have any idea how I can help him, before his liver is 100% gone, he kills an innocent person while driving, or some other tragedy occurs.

At this point in his life, he has killed a large portion of his brain and has the thought process of maybe a 10 year old I guess.

The very sad thing about this situation is I have left a lot out and am in no way exaggerating.

I met the daughter of friend who had died 15 years ago in an accident (She was only 2 when he died and she moved out of the area). I hadn’t forgotten my friend but I had certainly stopped obsessing about him. After meeting her I just couldn’t get my friend out of my head for hours!
