Are clamps supposed to be left in after surgery?

I have been having horrible lower back and flank pain. I thought it was my kidneys or urinary tract and I had x-rays, including an IVP or IPV (I forget the name).
2 CommentsAnyway, the x-ray tech asked me if I knew I had clamps left in me. I had my gallbladder removed last year.
Are clamps supposed to be left in?

I have 3 fully functioning kidneys, will this cause problems or is it a benefit?

I am 55 and in good health. I have 2 fully functioning kidneys back to back on my left side, and one fully functioning on my right. All the “lines” are present and of course they all feed into my bladder. As I grow older will there be problems or should I “donate” one? If so can it be one of those back to back ones? For additional info I have O+ blood.

pain lower left and right abdomen?

i have pains in my lower left and right abdomen, not at the same time though, it will be on the right one day and the left the next or switch up during the day, it never last longer than 45 seconds if that but it is sharp and i almost started to cry the other day and i have i high tolerance for pain, sometimes it only happens for 2 or 3 days. the longest was 3 days in a row but it only happened like 2 or 3 times a day. i have irregular periods but i have never had cramps with my periods, my urine is also cloudy sometimes but it doesn’t hurt to ***. i don’t know what is wrong with me, i am not big on taking medicines so i don’t want to go to the doctor unless i have to. also the pain is like in a long skinny slanted area on both on the right side its slanting in toward my groin area and the same with the left so that’s how i know it must be something with my kidneys or ovaries. i also have back pain but not unbearable but i don’t know if it has anything to do with this. thanks for helping

ok, i think i might be paranoid lol. my rib on my left side is sore, im veryyyyyy scared of stuff like my Kidneys giving out on me an stuff, im pretty positive im a hypochondriac, but im wondering if sitting at the computer all the time cuz really have an effect of my ribs hurting or if i should go to the doc’s?

i went to the doctors but they didnt say anything about it, they just said its from the pain of my ovilation rising thru my ribs =S i think its complet bullshit, but the doctors here are very stupid, so i dont know.

i went to the doctor for reg check up had blood in my urine she gave me bactrim went back to the doctor o told them i was having abdominal pain no burning when i urinate i been going to the bathroom alot though and i have lower back pain he told me my back pain is because of my weight so i told him i have both front lower abdomen and lower back pain he didnt want to keep giving me meds so he sent me to get a sonogram of my kidneys and bladder my appt is monday but today when i got to the bathroom to pass bowels i get a slight uncomfortable pain im not constipated this is the first time i have a sudden change in body if it doesn not improve i will be going to the er to see whats going on maybe it can be gas
i also have pressure when i go urinate but no burning

Correlation? kidneys/heart/brain/eyes problems?

I have re-occuring bi-lateral pars planitis. Brain MRI shows black spots. Immunoglobulin level in blood is elevated. Abnormal EKG and echo stress show left anterior descending artery not getting blood flow to wall between ventricles. Glucose and protein in urine. I have 7 specialists and nobody can figure this out. Can somebody pls help me? Thank you.

okay i have had pain in both my sides for probably 3 or 4 days now, like around my kidneys, the pain at times gets quite intense then goes away and moves around a bit, my left side is the worst,
then yesterday my glands seemed to become tender in my neck and jaw and by my ears, they still hurt but not as much today,
my groin is really hurting now especially on the right,
mums taking me to the doctors in 2 hours and asked me to do a urine sample, ive had a kidney infection before i know the routine, but i have been able to wee normally until today
nothings coming out, but theres no burning what could be wrong?

i have no way to the doctor im out in the country and my parents left to go to Cuba
i do get up alot to go to the bathroom cuz i have a Urinary tract infection so i have to go every 30-45 minutes.

What is the difference in treating UTIs and in treating kidney infections?

Basically i woke up sunday morning feeling like i had to go pee, but i couldn’t urinate. That feeling persisted, followed by a burning sensation when i peed. So, my grandma scheduled me an appointment with my doctor on monday, and she prescribed me antibiotics, for of course, UTI. When i saw my doctor i was feeling fine, but by the time i got home i noticed pain in my lower back on the right side. Tuesday morning i woke up, and i felt fine. Occasionally i felt discomfort in my lower back, but it doesn’t burn when i *** anymore and the pressure on my bladder is gone. But now it’s Tuesday night (wednesday morning) and i have horrible pains in the same lower right part of my back. It feels like someones kicking me, kinda like a muscle problem, but i know that it is probably my kidneys. Anyways, i guess i am wondering if i have antibiotics for a bladder infection, wouldn’t it clear any problems that may have traveled to my kidney’s too? or do i need a different prescription for that?
